Biography:
Haldir is a fictional character from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth legendarium, specifically featured in The Lord of the Rings.
He is an Elf, a Marchwarden of Lothlórien. His first appearance in the books is in The Fellowship of the Ring, when he and his brothers, Rúmil and Orophin, guide the Fellowship through the borders of the guarded realm of Lothlórien.
In Peter Jackson's film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Haldir leads a company of Elven warriors from Lothlórien to reinforce the human forces at Helm's Deep, playing a pivotal role in the battle against Saruman's Uruk-hai army. He is killed during this battle.
